On the instalation checks everything is green except "MySQLi support is on", and the instalation will not go on. Can you please tell me how to fix this ?

How to install WikidForum - a step by step guide

Step 1

How to download WikidForum installation file.

1. Go to www.wikidforum.com

2. Click on the download link

3. Click the download button and save the zip file to the local machine

Step 2

Downloaded wikid installation file & Extracting

1. Right click on the file

2. Select the extract Location

If you need a Zip utility, try out 7-Zip for free.You can download it from here.

Uploading the WikidForum installation files using FTP

1. Upload the extracted files to your ftp account (upload to the location where you want to install)

We recommend Filezilla Client FTP utility (Free)

Installing Wikid Forum

1. Once the upload is completed. Type the URL of the installation folder along with the '/install' at the end

Eg : http://www.wikidforum.com/install

2. You should see the above screen, hit 'Next' to start

1. If you happen to see any write permission issues (red circles) on some of the installation folders.

1. Open up Filezilla

2. Navigate to the WikidForum folder

3. Right click on the folder that needs to be given full permission and select 'File Permission'

2. Please repeat the same for all the folders

1. If all the permissions are given correctly and when the page is refreshed you’ll see the page with all the bullets in green.

1. Enter the sever name of your database

2. Enter the database name

3. Enter the login name for your database

4. Enter the password for the database

5. Select the verify button

2. You should see a message saying 'Database is ready for setup. Click the next button to proceed'

1. Enter a forum name, a forum address and upload a forum logo

2. Enter the Display name – this will appear to all other users

3. Enter a valid email address (Confirmation email will be sent to this address)

4. Enter the password for the forum admin login

5. Select ‘Next'

Installation Complete

Please do the following on this page

1. Remember your user name and password that you used on the previous screen

2. Please delete the 'Install' folder on the hosting server

3. Important - Check your email account for confirmation email

Being the admin we have to be able to set the user permission

Anybody know how to do that in Wikidforum ?

Installation mod rewrite setting

While setting up wikidforum on my computer, I ran into an issue enabling mod-rewrite. It would be helpful to have more information on how to setup mod-rewrite, and what changes to any files would need to be required.

I have apache 2.2 so to enable mod rewrite:

1. I had to copy rewrite.load from mods_available to mods_enable

2. update sites_enable/000-default file

By just implementing point #1, the installer got tricked in to thinking that mod-rewrite was successfully enabled, but after some investigation I realized until point #2 was implemented the links on the sites were broken.
